About This Game
Monster Prom 3: Monster Roadtrip XXL takes the quirky dating-sim formula of the Monster Prom series and turns it into a chaotic road-trip adventure. Instead of staying at school, players join Scott and Polly as they travel across the country, encountering strange situations, unusual characters, and plenty of unexpected events along the way. The Nintendo Switch version was released on August 4, 2023.
The game mixes road-trip survival mechanics with character interactions and the series’ distinctive humor. During the journey, players choose destinations, make decisions, manage different resources, and deal with situations that can change how the trip develops. There are six destinations to explore, giving each playthrough plenty of opportunities for different encounters and outcomes.
Character interaction is an important part of the experience. More than 15 characters can appear during the trip, giving players opportunities to build friendships and romantic relationships through conversations and different choices. The XXL edition also includes four additional playable characters: Zoe, Juan, Hazel, and Glitch.
Multiplayer adds another layer to the game. Up to four players can participate on one system, while supported online modes allow two to four players to join the fun. Players can work together during cooperative sessions or compete to become the ultimate prank master.
The game also offers three difficulty levels, allowing players to adjust the challenge of their road trip. Its colorful art style, humorous writing, unpredictable events, and choice-driven gameplay make each journey feel different.
For Nintendo Switch players looking for something beyond a traditional dating simulation, Monster Prom 3: Monster Roadtrip XXL combines adventure, survival mechanics, comedy, relationships, and multiplayer into one unusual road-trip experience. The XXL edition brings the extra playable characters together with the main game for a more complete version of the adventure.
Update note: Nintendo lists the Switch release at approximately 2.6 GB and supports single-system play for 1–4 players and online play for 2–4 players.
