About This Game
Grand Theft Auto V is an open-world action-adventure game set in the fictional state of San Andreas. The story follows three very different characters—Michael, Franklin, and Trevor—whose lives become connected through a series of heists, conflicts, and criminal adventures. Each character brings a different personality and style to the story, creating a campaign with multiple perspectives.
The main setting, Los Santos, is a large city surrounded by deserts, mountains, highways, countryside, and smaller communities. Players can freely explore the environment, drive a wide range of vehicles, take part in missions, and discover activities outside the main storyline. The open-world design gives the game plenty of freedom between major story missions.
One of GTA V’s standout features is its character-switching system. During certain missions and free-roaming moments, players can switch between Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, allowing the story to develop from different viewpoints. Each character also has a unique special ability that can be useful in different situations.
Driving is another major part of the experience. Players can use cars, motorcycles, boats, aircraft, and other vehicles while traveling around San Andreas. The game also includes customization options, shooting mechanics, exploration, and a variety of side activities.
GTA Online expands the experience beyond the single-player campaign with an evolving multiplayer world where players can create a character, complete activities, purchase properties, collect vehicles, and participate in different online events. Rockstar confirms that GTA V supports Story Mode and GTA Online, with some online features requiring a Rockstar Games account.
Important: Grand Theft Auto V has not been officially released for Nintendo Switch, so an official GTA V Switch NSP/XCI version should not be represented as an official Nintendo release. Rockstar’s current official support information lists GTA V on other platforms, including PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, rather than Nintendo Switch.
